Book and Humanities Week

25th April 17

Book and Humanities Week celebrated in honour of World Book Day, this year dedicated to Roald Dahl and Gloria Fuertes  has come to an end. The Department of Arts and Literature organized an extensive programme of activities and events which our students enjoyed between April 20th and 25th.

During this week, there was an exhibition in the Centre of posters, projections and various other works which allude to the works of Roald Dahl, created by Secondary students and submitted to the Book Contest. In addition the traditional book stalls were set up in the foyer.

Among the many activities that took place, one of the highlights was the poetic-musical recitals by Poetry Workshop students, theatrical performances and the Finals of the Versus Debate Tournament. Interesting films based on literary works were screened, two authors came to give an informative talk about themselves and their work, and various outings and excursions for different year groups were organized.

Once again Secondary and Baccalaureate students have been able to enjoy Book and Humanities Week and appreciate the importance of this cultural event.
